New York: Crosby Gaige; London: William Heinemann, 1927. First limited edition, first printing. One of five hundred and ninety copies. This is a near fine copy. Sharp in the brown paper dust wrapper, with some light rubbing and a closed, hairline tear to the backstrip and some evidence of handling. In the original white quarter-cloth with the blue spine labelled in gilt. The edges are free from foxing. This copy is free from previous owners inscriptions, and is flat signed by Sassoon on the full title page in black ink. Overall, this is a near fine copy. The typography is by Bruce Rogers, the recipient of a gold medal from the American Academy of Arts and Letters for distinction in the graphic arts.
