[Journal of Researches]. Freeman 180. pp. 139-160, with 12 wood-engravings in the text. This is the first appearance of anything by Darwin in French. A complete translation appeared in 1875. The volume also includes a substantial translated extract from Richard Burton’s Lake Regions of Central Africa. At the York fair, we will have other early editions of Darwin in French and German.
