The pamphlet describes 4 methods of rescuing the crew and cargo from a shipwreck: one due to an unnamed ‘Architetto navale di Great Yarmouth’; one the mortar invented by John Bell (1791), a precursor of the rocket system; the others presented to the Nautical College in Leith by Lionel Lukin, the lifeboat designer. ESTC locates at NLS only, and notes ‘The English original has not been traced.’ We find one other copy, at Copenhagen.
