Lovely recent half calf, gilt titles and bands to spine, boards and endpapers marbled. Binding remaining firm. Leaves bright, with just occasional light spots. Bound with twelve pages of publisher's advertisements for the Juvenile Library to rear. Illustrated with engraved frontispiece and eleven plates besides, all depicting the Greek and Roman gods; complete. An excellent example of this scarce work by Godwin, an important philosopher and novelist, and the father of Mary Shelley.
