Presented to Dorothy North, to whom the novel 'One, Two, Buckle my Shoe' is dedicated; North and Christie were great friends, and Dorothy's second daughter Susan was a close friend to Rosalind, Agatha's daughter. The year 1937 was Rosalind's debutante season; Agatha Christie being divorced, was unable to attend to present her at court, so Dorothy performed the duty for her. North often was among the first to read copies of Christie's novels; following the writing at Winterbrook House, Christie would bring the rough copy to Greenway, where Dorothy North spent her summers. First edition, first impression. Bound in the publisher's cloth in a clipped dust wrapper, the wrapper a little faded to the spine and discoloured to panels, light bruising to corners and spine ends but better than most faded copies. Inscribed to the front endpaper. The front hinge strained. Closed page edges a little spotted. A few sporadic marks to pages, including p. 24-25, 34-35, 124-125, and 198-201.
