Book Description

An inscribed first edition, signed and inscribed by Le Queux to William Agate, 'a souvenir of some pleasant hours spent together at Warnham when I was writing this book', dated Nov 7, 1896. Bound in the publisher's blue pictorial cloth, with gilt titles to spine and pictorial imagery to spine and front board. The spine ends are a little bumped and tired, the extremities and edge bruised resulting in occasional fraying. All edges gilt. Inscribed by the author to the front free endpaper. Front hinge strained and with binding exposed, rear hinge similarly. Some edgewear resulting in loss along the edge of the front free endpaper. Later gift inscription to verso of ffep. Leaves are a touch age-toned, with occasional spotting. A lovely inscribed first edition of Le Queux's lost world novel.
