Book Description

A true first edition of Percy Shelley's politically charged poem, written in response to the Peterloo Massacre, and his call for nonviolent resistance and unity with the famous line, "Ye are many—they are few". A lovely artefact from the history of Romantic literature. Published posthumously in 1832 by Edward Moxon, collated with half-title and advertisements at end. Boards worn with paper loss to spine, knocking and wear to extremities, and some staining to the bottom of the boards.
