Book Description

The second book from American writer Flannery O’Connor, A Good Man is Hard to Find and Other Stories is a collection of ten masterful “Southern Gothic” short stories with subjects ranging from baptism to freak shows to oppressive mothers. O’Connor is widely recognized as one of the most important 20th century American short story writers, and her posthumously compiled Complete Stories won the 1972 National Book Award. This first edition, early impression is presented in an unclipped first issue dust jacket, with a price of $3.50 and reviews for O’Connor’s previous novel Wise Blood on rear. (The second issue jacket has a price of $3.95 and makes reference to O’Connor’s death in 1964, with reviews of A Good Man is Hard to Find on rear.) The text retains original errors with “tyring” instead of “trying” on page 125. Wear to dust jacket edges with small closed tear (2cm) to head.
