Dealer Notes
First edition. A novella set on the Dorset coast in the vicinity of the eponymous beach in 1962, where a young, newly married couple honeymoon as the social norms of the postwar era are about to give way to those of the 1960s. On Chesil Beach was shortlisted for the Booker Prize for Fiction and won the British Book Awards Book of the Year in 2008. The book was adapted for the screen by McEwan, and the film, directed by Dominic Cooke and starring Saoirse Ronan and Billy Howle, was released in 2017.
