Book Description

VG clean copy in similar dust jacket. Text in French. The interest and the value of this book is more to do with the inscription. It is signed on the title page by the great artist himself and personally inscribed to Oscar winner Jack Cardiff, the famous movie director and cinematographer whose career spanned from the 1920s, through the days of technicolor, and right up to modern times. His life has been written about and is now the focus of a play called "Prism" It is part of a collection of books acquired from Jack Cardiff's art collection some years ago. The inscription is in French and reads "A Monsieur Jack Cardiff, amicalement, Maurice, Utrillo, V" It is a very distinct signature exactly as seen on his paintings. It truly is a unique piece of art and cinema history/memorabilia. Utrillo's art often sells for £100s of thousands at auction. Unique copy which would make a highly collectable gift. This book has been reduced for this fair only by £200
