Hybrid: Working from home but some travel to PBFA Book Fairs 
Part-time: Flexible 22.5 hrs per week (including some Saturdays)
Salary: £18,000 - £21,000 depending upon experience
Contract: Permanent

The Opportunity 
The Provincial Booksellers Fairs Association (PBFA) is the largest bookselling association in Europe, dedicated to connecting buyers and sellers of rare, antiquarian, and second-hand books. We are seeking an enthusiastic and invested individual for the newly created role of Marketing and Social Media Co-Ordinator to join our administrative team. This is an exciting opportunity for a "social media native" to shape the future of our digital presence and help bring the world of rare books to a new generation of collectors. 
 
Key Responsibilities 
●   Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive annual marketing plan to promote the PBFA brand and its nationwide calendar of over 50 fairs with a view to boosting attendance and membership; utilising social, digital, and print media. 
●   Digital Content Creation: 
   ○ Design high-quality digital assets for each individual fair. 
   ○ Write and produce digital media content for the Fair Managers Pack. 
   ○ Collaborate directly with exhibitors and fair managers to create, edit, and curate engaging social media content. 
●   Platform Expansion: Lead the charge in expanding our reach beyond Instagram and Facebook. You will be responsible for launching and maintaining a consistent brand voice on TikTok, Blusky, and YouTube. 
●   Administrative Support: Occasional visits to our Royston headquarters to support the small PBFA team with essential administrative tasks. 
●   Field Engagement: Regular travel to visit and document PBFA fairs across the UK to capture live content and engage with our community of over 400 members. 
 
Candidate Skills and Qualities 
●   Graphic Design Skills: Proficiency in Photoshop, Canva, Adobe or similar design software is essential for creating professional assets. 
●   Cultural Literacy: Demonstrable interest in the subject of rare books is highly desirable but not essential, as is experience of working for a membership organisation, particularly in a marketing, communications or events role. 
●   Social Media Native: You have a deep, intuitive understanding of digital trends and how to build communities on emerging platforms. 
●   Interpersonal Skills: You must be sociable and capable of working "hand in hand" with a diverse group of specialist booksellers. 
●   Operational Fit: Ability to work effectively within established working practices while bringing a fresh, enthusiastic energy to the team. 
●   Highly-Organised: enthusiastic individual with an ability to deliver under pressure, and a talent for thinking on your feet. 
●   A full, clean driving licence.
