Book Description

London: Collins Crime Club, 1961. First edition, first printing. This is a very good (or better) copy. Clean dust jacket with some light handling marks to the rear and one small closed tear at the foot of the spine. Edges slightly rubbed. It has been price clipped. The boards are very clean in the original red cloth and the text blocks bright, white, but with a very small brushing of foxing to the bottom edge. This copy is free from inscriptions and is, overall, in very good (or better) condition. The novel features her novelist detective Ariadne Oliver as a minor character, and reflects in tone the supernatural novels of Dennis Wheatley who was then at the height of his popularity. The Pale Horse is mentioned in Revelation 6:8, where it is ridden by Death.
