A collection of the twelve Reviews of 1789 minus the Shakespeare supplements that appear not to have been bound with the monthly issues, but including a series of copper plates with views of various English scenes and portraits of famous actors and actresses. The contents of the Review include literature, reviews of books and plays, plus bulletins and articles on domestic news and foreign affairs. The 1789 edition includes news from France: "an authentic account of the revolution"; the Declaration of the Rights of Man; and observations on the slave trade. Some foxing, minor chipping to leather at head and foot of spine and some cracking between boards and spine, though the binding is sound. Overall Good condition.
