It commences from the prehistoric period, through to the expansion of Sohar and influence of the Portuguese and up to the ascension of Sultan Qaboos in July 1970. The photos show traditional architecture and dress, prehistoric and archaeological remains alongside landscapes of the Sultanate.
The foreword was written by HE Sayyid Fahad al Said, who served as the Minister of Information and Tourism between 1973-79.
