140x88mm. Postcard, single sided. Dated 22. viii. 55. Not addressed to Helen, but concluded with dearest | dear Helen . The front side depicts a slightly garish illustration by Mabel Lucie Attwell, captioned 'Little Happy | Smilin Through | Wants Everybody | Happy Too!'. In Cushing's sloping hand in his characteristic blue ink. It reads: 'A Travelling companion for | my darling travelling companion! | With all my love, always. | & welcome home. | dearest | dear Helen.' Signed with a small doodle of a dog bone and paw.
