On 25 July, 1827, Charles Fellows and William Hawes made the eighteenth ascent of Mont Blanc. Two weeks later, on the 9th August, John Auldo made the nineteenth ascent. Both parties were guided by Joseph-Marie Couttet, who in 1822 had acted as guide for Frederick Clissold, and would do the same for Edward Wilbraham in 1830. The present volume collects together the narratives by Fellows and Auldjo, the lithographic illustrations to each work complementing one another. Fellows’ work is in the uncoloured version.
