Dealer Notes
AB 16362. Sponsored by Lady Franklin and by public subscription, the "Prince Albert" under Charles Forsyth searched for Franklin’s expedition in the region of Boothia Peninsula and Prince Regent Inlet, examining the site of James Ross's wintering. Unable to pass beyond Fury Point, they turned back, meeting DeHaven with "The Advance". Learning of the discovery of relics of Franklin's expedition and of their winter quarters on nearby Beechey Island, they returned immediately to relate the news to Lady Franklin and the Admiralty. An excellent copy of the only personal narrative of this expedition.
