Full contemporary cloth, appearing to lack original spine label. Head and tail of the spine bumped resulting in losses, and some chipping to the joints. Extremities bumped, spine a touch cocked. Front pastedown with adhesive residue from removal of a bookplate, later ownership inscription to ffep, which has a tear of 1" towards gutter. Hinges a touch strained, else binding remaining tight. Leaves bright and clean. Illustrated by Harriet Dalloway with black and white vignettes throughout, and including a coloured half title & dedicatory page. A scarce early 19th century work on heraldry.
