Two volumes in one, bound with the continuation of the same work. Both lacking early / final leaves, with Volume I opening at Chapter 1 and complete with the table, Volume II complete with title page but lacking table and final leaves, last page being p.280. Bound in later 19th century cloth, gilt titles to spine, the extremities a little bumped and spine ends similarly, with a few small marks to the boards. 1882 ownership inscription of William Lloyd to verso of later ffep. There is a green ink mark to the first orig. leaf. Volume I lacking title page and early leaves, opening at Chapter 1. There are worm holes to the margins of Volume I, and affecting textblock between p.95 and p.119 of Volume II. Gutta percha paste binding having failed, with leaves from title page of Volume II until p.64 loose but present & complete. Pagination: 323, [11]; [21], 280pp. An uncommon example of Selden's treatise on the British government.
