Scarce publisher's blind stamped cloth, author's name in gilt to spine, extremities rather bumped, the head and tail of the spine similarly bruised with some light loss, a few small spots and marks to the boards, rear board more noticeably, ownership stamp to verso of front blank and contemporary ownership inscription to title page. Hinges a little strained with binding visible at the introduction page and p.287 respectively, binding a touch tender throughout. Occasional light spots. Some historic folds to corners of leafs. A scarce history of northernmost Scotland in the publisher's cloth.
