Publisher's pictorial paper covered boards. Front board warped & bowed at edges, some light stains to front & rear board, extremities bumped & bruised, spine a little chipped to head & tail. Crease damage to front pastedown. Internally, binding rather tender, with some leaves beginning to loosen; some spotting, age-toning and handling marks. A charming 1940s illustrated book by Townend detailing a love story between two steam engines; the author's third work.
