Spence 12 (1909 edition). Sir William Lamond Allardyce (1861-1930) was a governor of the Falkland Islands, at a time of much growth and development due to the whaling industry. He published this short monograph in Stanley in 1909, and this reprinted version appeared in 1915 at the end of his tenure (Tatham The Dictionary of Falkland Islands Biography, pp. 37-42).
