Clara Colliver Rice (1866-1952) was the wife of Walter Rice, a missionary in Persia from 1901 to 1921. She knew Mary Bird, the first woman sent out by the Church Missionary Society, and wrote Mary Bird in Persia as a record of Bird’s work among the women of the country. Persian Women and their Ways describes the women of different groups in the Persia, with additional chapters on food, feasts, shopping, and similar.
