the Knapsack (Variant binding)
Book Description
First edition 1939 .
This uncommon (variant) binding was produced with the service man in mind, designed to become part of their kit bag or knapsack...hence the title. Press-stud biding was designed to keep everything neat & tidy with the minimum of fuss.
Contents include a large selection of prose and verse from a great number of authors and poets.
Dealer Notes
Smaller pocket book size was designed to facilitate ease of carriage & use. Approx 4" x 6.5".
Contents are clean & complete, inside the front cover is a (crossed-out) name and above it a (service?) number.
Inside the rear cover the press-stud has rusted a little and no longer works properly. It has left a small round rust stain opposite.
