1951, London, published by Collins on behalf of the Festival of Britain Office, first editions, 13 volumes in two brown cloth boxes, with black calf labels, colour title pages, black and white illustrations, pictorial boards in dustwrappers. Covering England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland all these guides follow the same format, portrayed by a well-known author. Contained in these purpose-made cloth boxes, the books have survived in near-perfect condition and they are unusually found so.
