First edition; one of 300 copies for sale in the UK signed by the artist ; 4to (290 x 225 mm.); printed in red & black, 16 tipped-in colour plates with captioned tissue guards, vignette title and illustrations, all by Cecil Aldin, internally excellent; publisher’s vellum-backed white boards lettered in gilt, top edge gilt, others uncut, light mottling to boards, a few small abrasions, but overall very good.
