First edition, first impression, presented in an unclipped wrapper. The wrapper is chipped to the head of the spine resulting in minor losses, with a perforation to the spine below the titles; the spine is discoloured. Panels with light edgewear, rear panel a touch toned, generally bright and smart; corners bumped and with light wear. The book heavily discoloured at the spine ends and to the perforation, the boards with the odd spot. Fore edge a touch spotted. Ownership inscription to front endpaper. The binding firm, leaves with occasional spots towards the edges. A lovely first edition of Dahl's short story collection, including 'The Landlady' and 'The Champion of the World', later revised to the 1975 work 'Danny the Champion of the World'.
