Book Description

London: Hutchinson & Co., c.1937. Softcover, ribbon bound in punch marks. This is a very good copy. In the original publishers blue wraps. Abrasion to the front and rear panels, and chipping at the edges. It appears complete. The author, Dennis Wheatley, has flat signed his name to the first page in blue ink, just above the mock newspaper clipping. Exhibit B and I are unfortunately missing. The seal has been broken. This is a very good copy. The second of Dennis Wheatley's brilliant and unique crime dossiers, a novel told by a series of documents, given to the reader in order to solve the murder themselves. In this novel, Robert Prentice has been found dead of strychnine poisoning , and his widow has written to Lieutenant Schwab to beg for his assistance. This was a novelty when first published, and became incredibly popular.
