Book Description

Trephining in its Ancient and Modern Aspect, by John Fletcher Horne, pub. John Bale & sons, 1894, first (only) edition. 133 pp. Illustrated. Blue cloth, gilt titles. Tidy ownership inscription 'R McIntosh' (the doctor father of Kinn McIntosh, better known as 'Catherine Aird', the crime fiction author). Trephining, also, perhaps more popularly, if that is the word, known as trepanning. A very scarce title indeed, and here offered as a sharp, first edition copy. Some foxing to the edges of the text block, else VG. I think I deserve a good deal of credit for resisting the temptation to suggest that you need this book like you need a hole in the head.
