Book Description

155x98mm. Single sheet (unfolded compliments card with Loos s name crossed out in her hand to the rear). Typed to Lady Berthe Michelham, a British socialite. It reads: 'July 13th, 1956. | Dearest Lady Michelham, | Yesterday was sheer | enchantment. What a Cicerone | you are to me in this beautiful | City. All love all love | Anita'. Although a very short typed letter, the relationship between Loos and Michelham is poorly documented, and only few items that have appeared at auction give any small insight. This letter is not marked in any way, and sharp at the corners. A fine TLS from the first female staff screenwriter in Hollywood, and author of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.
