First separate edition. 8vo. pp. 23; 2 plates of photo. illusts.; good in original papered linen wrappers, soiled and rubbed. Ownership inscription of Michael Ward, with his bookplate, and some annotations by him, and a loosely inserted sheet with his notes on the climbs (Michael Ward was the doctor on the 1953 Everest Expedition).
Dealer Notes
Neate Q215. Ward’s notes show that he led many of the climbs, some of them made with the co-author Barford. Barford died while climbing with Ward and Bill Murray while descending the Col du Coste Rouge in the Alps.
