Book Description

The World of Lawrence: A Passionate Appreciation, Henry Miller, Capra Press, 1980, First Edition, First Impression In 1932 Miller had just finished Tropic of Cancer and a publishing deal was agreed. It was thought that a prior publication of a short critical work on D.H.Lawrence "would give Miller prestige's a thinker, disarm the critics and force them to take Tropic of Cancer seriously". For whatever reason it was not published and sat in the archives for 50 years. The book is in very good condition. The binding is tight and straight, the boards clean and bright and the pages and endpapers without marks, tears or inscriptions. The book has several illustrations of Miller's hand-written notes but there also some neat academic annotations throughout the book. The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a clear removable cover is also very good with darkening in parts of the cream coloured jacket. Will be dispatched promptly, professionally packaged and fully insured.
