The Chawton edition, first edition thus. Red half crushed morocco and marbled boards, gilt titles, bands and decorative flowers to spines, upper edges gilt. Externally lovely, with very light occasional marks to the leather spines, which are a little discoloured. Light occasional discolouration to the leather, marbled boards remaining bright. Minor bumping to the extremities. Bindings remaining firm. Leaves are a spot age-toned towards the margins. Occasional light pencil annotations of literary analysis to the margins and the rear blanks. A splendid library set in a sumptuous binding.
