The head and tail of the spine are a little bumped, the rear joint starting and worn throughout, and the front joint starting at the head with some damage to the tail of the spine. Front board remaining clean, rear board with a few marks & scratches. Ownership inscription & gift inscription to front free endpaper. Binding remaining generally tight, with hinges a touch loose. Occasional pencil annotation to margins. To rear pastedown, an envelope pasted in containing newspaper clippings, many by the author from The Times circa 1932.
