Book Description
The Uncollected Work of Aubrey Beardsley, published by the Bodley Head, London 1925. A 1st edition. With an introduction by C Lewis Hind. In stiff decorated boards size 29 by 22 cm. 162 pages of plates, some in colour, plus a 26-page introduction and another 162 pages which guard the plates and have the title and source of each illustration but are otherwise plain. Some plates are double page, including a series from Morte d'Arthur. The notes accompanying the illustrations state that many had never been previously reproduced, and these include sketches for programmes for home entertainments. Two colour plates foxed to borders and reverse and several others foxed outside the margins of the illustration. Condition Good, with one chip to the top of the back board and a rather worn dust-wrapper. A heavy tome, weighing in at aroud 3 kg.
