The Second World War (6 Volumes)
Book Description
The Second World War (6 Volumes), Winston S. Churchill, Cassell, First Edition, First Impressions
A series of six volumes chronicling the Second World War in enormous detail and illustrated throughout by numerous maps and diagrams. Churchill used his own notes and privileged access to official documents while still serving as Leader of the Opposition. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1953.
It is becoming increasingly difficult to find very good sets of this monumental work. Most are characterised by torn and ripped dust jackets due to the economy paper used at the time, faded red tint to the top edge, mildew affected boards and faded to the point of missing red titles to the spine. This set stands out with red top edges and has very good colouring to the titles to the spine, so much more appealing when side on on the shelf.
Each volume is a First Edition, First Impression with a dust jacket protected in a clear, removable cover. Looks extremely impressive as a set.
