The Flight From The Enchanter

Book Description
The Flight from the Enchanter, Iris Murdoch, Chatto & Windus 1956, First Edition, First Impression
The Booker Prize-winning author's second novel and as a first / first with (Edward Bawden designed) dust jacket becoming increasingly uncommon.
Set in post-WWII West London with recurrent themes of immigration and women's liberation, this is a story of a number of people "enchanted" by the spell of Mischa Fox.
The binding is tight with a slight lean, the blue boards are dull with wear to the base of the spine and the front bottom corner. Boots book lovers sticker to the front board. The slightly toned end papers and pages are free from marks, tears or inscriptions.
The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in fair condition with browning to the cream areas, nibbling and small losses to all extremities but particularly to the top and bottom of the spine.
Nevertheless a decent copy of an increasingly hard to find volume.
Will be despatched wrapped in bubblewrap and a book box.
