Book Description

SECOND EDITION, revised by Tolkien, all 6th impressions. Three volumes. Fold out maps at the end of each volume. A neat gift inscription, dated Christmas 1972, to the front blank free endpaper of each volume otherwise a very good bright and clean set in the publishers red cloth with gilt lettering and ring device to spines, which is still very bright and fresh. Top edges red. A tiny but of light spotting to the fore edges and a stain to the cloth at the bottom outside of the rear board on The Two Towers, which doesn't affect the inside of the book, otherwise a very good bright set in the correct Sixth impression original dustwrappers, which have all been price clipped to the front inner flaps. A few minor marks to the wrappers but overall these are bright and clean examples and the set looks like it hasn't been read. Overall a much better than average set of this classic work.
