8vo. (6.5 x 4.3 inches).vi, 220pp. Engraved frontispiece and decoration on title page. Front free endpaper excised, otherwise complete. In a highly decorative leather binding by Benjamin West of St. James's Walk, Clarkenwell, London, the first bookbinder to use movable ornaments in blocks for gilding boards. Signed in blind with his distinctive stamp on the inside rear board. Full tan morocco with elaborate gilt designs, enhanced by red, amber, dark green and navy blue dyed decorations. All edges gilt. The boards a little marked but overall a very good unusual and attractive leather binding.
