“The Holiday Annual gives notes of holiday-trips recently undertaken by tourists in various places, each essay noting the route taken, the hotels occupied, and the expenses of all kinds actually incurred” (BMJ, June 21, 1884, p. 1211). The present numbers of the publication - which seemed to run for 23 numbers in total - include details of travels in Britain, Ireland, and farther afield: Norway, the Ardennes, Iceland, Heligoland, Italy, Switzerland, Madeira, North Cape, the Rhine, Teneriffe, and ‘The Tour of Monte Rosa and Mont Blanc’. Most of the articles are short - a page or two - but others are longer, up to five pages.
