John Brooke Scrivenor (1876-1950) became the geologist to the Federated Malay States government, in which capacity he wrote several works on the minerals and ores of the country. The present work covers the geology of “the Kinta, Lower Perak, and Batang Selangor districts of Perak, the Dindings, and the Ulu and Kuala Selangor districts of Selangor”. The North Selangor part of the book was contributed by W. R. Jones, one time assistant geologist to the States.
