Book Description

Book covers designed by Talwin Morris in Peacock Style and signed in code/ cipher to upper board. The Peacock motif was beloved of the Glasgow designers and the Aesthetic Movement and Morris was a friend to all 4 members of the Spook School: the MacDonald sisters, Herbert McNair and Charles Rennie Mackintosh. As Art Director at Blackie's, Morris designed a number of covers for the subsidiary company, Gresham. Well written work, some minor foxing, complete sets are rare.
