Original green cloth somewhat spotted; front cover bowed; head and tail of spine a bit frayed and worn (no loss). Spine gilt titling and decoration still bright. Tinted frontispiece (“The Valley of Glaciers”) and folding map in rear pocket, a little browned at folds but no splits or tears as is so often the case. Unidentified 1881 gift inscription on verso of fep.
