First edition, 1921. Hardback. 261pp. Full recent leather binding with gilt to boards and spine. Original dust jacket front and spine bound-in at rear. New marbled endpapers. The stories in this volume are: The Minotaur, The Pygmies, The Dragon’s Teeth, Circe’s Palace, The Pomegranate Seeds and The Golden Fleece. Twenty-two illustrations by Virginia Frances Sterrett, ten of which (including frontis) are full-colour, full-page with captioned tissue guards. Also various decorations to chapter heads etc.
Book in near fine condition. Some light spotting, mainly to prelims and to the glossy paper used for the colour illustrations (the spotting on these is essentially to margins and doesn’t affect the inked areas). Internally very clean and bright.
