Dealer Notes
Dublin vied with Paris in producing the most exquisite bookbindings of the eighteenth century, of which the most celebrated were the 149 manuscript Journals of the Irish Parliament, tragically destroyed in 1922. This is the first book in over thirty years on the subject of Irish bookbinding and forms an important contribution both to the history of the book trade and the art and cultural history of Ireland in the eighteenth century.
