1st Edition. 14 x 22 cm brown boards with gilt stamped titles to the spine, 190[2]pp with black and white illustrations by Anthony Maitland. With original unclipped dust jacket priced at 18s. net. The book is signed and inscribed by the author, ‘To all the Townsends/ ( especially Penny)/ Love From/ Leon Garfield 1970’.
A near fine book clean and bright with just a touch of shelf wear and the author’s inscription to the half title page. The dust jacket which is now protected in a removable, clear cover (not shown) is a little creased and rubbed along the spine tips corners and edges most noticeably along the top edge with minimal loss to the corners and two small 0.5 cm closed tears at the head of the spine and a 1.3 cm closed tear at the foot of the rear panel.
