A detailed account of the towns and sights along the line of the London and Birmingham Railway and their history. Includes a folding map of the line (size 68 by 28 cm hand-coloured) inside a pocket within the front endpapers. Illustrated with full-page engravings some hand-coloured. In stiff cloth-covered boards with a splendid gold-stamped image of a locomotive on the front. Size 19.5 by 12 cm. 216 pages. Some rubbing to head of spine but otherwise book and map in VG condition.
