Louis Wain’s Annual 1911-1912 Coloured frontispiece of a Chinchilla Persian cat and another coloured plate of cats in the moonlight, both mounted on blue art paper, over 40 full page and dozens of smaller illustrations in line. The majority are of cats both comical and naturalistic, others feature dogs and other animals. Stories by various authors including “Betsy Jane” which is by Louis Wain himself, other authors include Caroline Wain, Captain John Cullen and Felicia Boiteux. Advertisements on endpapers. 96 pages; some fox speckling, mainly at foredges, one corner tip torn away but not affecting the illustrations. 245 x 185 mm [approx. 9 ¾” x 7 ¼”] Original publishers illustrated wraps have some crease lines, spine head and foredges worn and reinforced with paper at some time, front hinge has staple rust and is cracked at upper edge, contents still very good.
