Liturgia seu Liber Precum Communium in Ecclesia Anglicana receptus... engraved title, T. Newborough, 1706 and “The whole book of Psalms” - 1707 12mo: [24] 180 [4], Latin Psalter Aa-Mm6. English Psalter a-d12 With plates numbered to 48 (out of order and missing no. 38) Including image of Queen Anne. First edition of this Latin translation of the Book of Common Prayer by Thomas Parsell (1674-1720) who had graduated from Oxford in 1697. Seven editions of this Latine edition were published from 1706 until 1759. This copy is extra-illustrated with 47 (of 48) full page plates. It also contains the “Whole Book of Psalms” in English from 1707. This would have been a more deluxe edition of the Book of Common Prayer for an educated reader. This copy is housed in its nice original black morocco binding with gold tooling and spine with 5 bands. Gilt text block and marbled end papers. Bindinged bumped and rubed with loss of upper spine, joints rubbed but firm, otherwise very good. Ticket of the former Archdeacon of Berkshire and the Lleweni collection
