"The Re-captured Negro" tells the story of a free slave in Sierra Leone who is recaptured by traders to be sold again into slavery. Eventually he regains his freedom before meeting his long lost mother, finding Christianity along the way. The tract was written very much for the Sunday school audience at a time of great zeal for abolitionism. This tract is an early example of anti-slavery literature for the broader market.
